ST MARY-LE-TOWER CHURCH, IPSWICH HAS TWO CHOIRS

The Church Choir of boys (trebles) and men
and the Tower Singers, a female group.

Three fully choral services are held each Sunday -
9.45am Parish Eucharist (Modern - Common Worship)
11.15am Choral Matins (Traditional - Book of Common Prayer)
Or on the first Sunday in the month: Holy Communion (Traditional - Book of Common Prayer)
6.30pm Choral Evensong (Traditional - Book of Common Prayer)

A wide and challenging repertoire is covered, from the mediaeval to the modern. Overseas tours are undertaken, recently to America, France and Holland. The choir were asked to celebrate New Year's Day 2007 by singing Evensong at St Paul's Cathedral, London. The choir has also recently commissioned choral works by Robert Walker, Gabriel Jackson and David Bednall.

The Reverend Charles Jenkin, presently Team Rector, Melton Mowbray Team Ministry, has been appointed vicar of this parish and will be instituted and inducted by Bishop Nigel on Monday 22 September at 7.30pm.
