In February, the Church Choir of Boys and Men will be on tour in the south of England. 

Their music programme includes the following

Monday 15 February and Tuesday 16 February
Evensong at Chichester Cathedral, 5.30pm

Thursday 18 February
Lunchtime Concert at Portsmouth Cathedral, 
1.10pm (end 1.55pm)

Friday 19 February
Evensong at Salisbury Cathedral, 5.30pm

ST MARY-LE-TOWER CHURCH, IPSWICH, HAS THREE CHOIRS:

 

· The Church Choir of boys (trebles) and men,

· The Tower Singers, a female group

· The Tower Chamber Choir, which sing for occasional concerts

 

 

Three fully choral services are held each Sunday:


8.00 am
Holy Communion (BCP)
9.30 am
Choral Matins (BCP)
10.30 am
Parish Communion (Common Worship)
6.30pm (First Sundays)
Sung High Eucharist (BCP)
(Other Sundays)
Choral Evensong (BCP)

 

 

A wide and challenging repertoire is covered, from the mediaeval to the modern.

Overseas tours are undertaken, recently to America, France, Holland and Rome.

The choir were asked to celebrate New Year's Day 2007 by singing Evensong at St Paul's Cathedral, London and in February 2009 they sang at St Peter's, Rome.

 

The choir has recently commissioned choral works by Robert Walker, Gabriel Jackson and David Bednall.
